G a t h e r i n g - S t r i p e s - o g - z z z z z z

In English? Look at the bottom!

In English

I'm writing while Emil is snoring, which clearly tells that he is ill. Tonsils as big as I don't know what, is what his tonsillitis has brought along. And luckily he's sleeping a bit now - maybe time will go faster like that, so the pencillin can work.

Everything has been out to get him lately, so hopefully the tonsilitis, the fever and the migraines will find other people to bother - well, actually it should not go to anyone at all...

So in spite of lovely sunshine and warm winds, I'm inside with Emil close by. And that's fine by me.
I'm well into Gathering Stripes by Veera Välimäki. A sweater I knew that I just had to knit, when I saw it popping up in ravelry quite a while ago.

Again I have chosen Blackhill Wool & Cotton from Garnudsalg.dk. After knitting my cardigan in the same yarn, I have become crazy about it. The colours are called Rullesten and Cote D' Azur.
I'm only using one thread, because the gauge is good like that. However, I'm a bit worried that the neck will become too soft, and not be able to stand up in the way it looks it's best. But, time will tell...

The patient is awake...and he's thirsty too, so I'm off to get freezing cold drinks. Have a wonderful Sunday.

    1. Tak i lige måde, Ditte - omend dagen snart er slut. :))

  2. Wow, new blog layout! It's lovely. And so are all your knits! All of them. You are my knitting hero. Sorry about Emil! And also thank you for your lovely note re: dolls and upcoming Pippi. You are so kind.

    1. If only the new blog layout would have worked out like I wanted it to, Larissa! Somehow I couldn't get all my sidebar informations to show, so I went back to the old design. Boring, because I really liked the other one.

And thank you so much about my knitting. :)) It's my first time as a knitting hero - but it suits me fine. Who doesn't want to be a hero? ;))

I hope that Emil will be better in the next couple of days, especially when the pencillin works. I feel so sorry for him, because he has been poorly on and of for a while now. He misses riding on his skateboard.

I really look forward to seing your Pippi doll. I know for sure that she will be absolutely perfect. :))

      Take care.

  3. Get well soon to little Emil. The colour of the sweater looks really nice. I´d like to knit this sweater for my son too one day. He is just not too crazy about handknit sweaters ;)

    Can´t wait to see yours.

    1. Thanks a lot, Evelyn. :)) I hope that he gets better soon - he just lies in his bed or on our on couch all day long without saying very much. That's so unlike Emil.
I totally understand that you would love to make the sweater as well. It's a really beautiful design. I hope that your son wants to have one. (My son is not fond of handknit sweaters either). ;(

      Have a lovely day. :))

    1. Thank you so much, Nina. :)) That's so true! He's aching every time he swallows - so these days he's living on cold foods, which go down easily. ;))
When he's all quiet he's not well at all - and we are having the most beautiful weather with sun and warmth. The perfect day for a good skate session! But hopefully it will stay good and sunny so he can skate at the end of the week. :))

I love the heart your sweet children made. The little pieces at the side are so fine. :)) It would look great in a frame on the wall. (Anne-Sophie made one for us when she was little, and we had it framed in a passe par tout. I get so happy whenever I see it). I adore the work of children. :))

Dear Nina, take good care. I think about you.
      xx
